When You Die, Will Your Life Insurance Be Found?

Tag: UncategorizedByron Udell @ 9:10 am

Last week, www.findyourpolicy.com was officially launched. It claims to be an official database to register permanent or term life insurance policies and more. Following is an excerpt from the official press release.

Thousands of families cannot find their policies thus billions of dollars are lost! How do you avoid this sad ending? Findyourpolicy.com will assure members their inheritance can be found.

FindYourPolicy.com was founded by Michael Hartmann, a life insurance professional who knows of misfortunes caused by lost or “unknown” life insurance policies. Findyourpolicy.com provides secure storage of information. Some families live so far apart, keeping records up to date, shared with loved ones and still secure is very difficult. Do your loved ones know where your records are? Will they know 10 years from now? Your loved ones need a proactive way to be kept informed and up to date so your estate is passed on. This proactive approach prompts you to make the updates for estate planning, family and address changes, etc.

According to Insurance.com national average auto insurance premium has dropped from 1916 to 1887.

This is a really a great idea! It could absolutely lead grieving families to be able to take full advantage of the insurance policies they may not have even known existed. Someone was thinking on this one. It\’s still no substitute for keeping accurate and complete records, of course, but it\’s a good backup plan.

Thank you for your kind words. Please understand, the last thing I want to imply is that the average person is unorganized. However, we realize that many people, inlcuding myself, have other responsibilities that do not always allow us to keep good records. We have come up with this inexpensive concept to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to pass on their legacy and not worry that their information will be located.
We invite everyone to browse our website, become a member and secure that their legacy will be found and passed on.

    Jerry/Michael –

This was a great idea. Hopefully people will use it – important documents like life insurance policies get misplaced throughout the years and if someone takes this simple measure it could make things a lot easier for their family if something should happen.

Now the big issue is actually getting publicity for the site and also getting the insurance companies to be forthcoming with the data. I think it might be a problem because findyourpolicy.com is actually a third party and might cause come privacy date issues.

    Dear http://www.insurancerelease.com
I would like to explain how our service works. We do not ask any insurance company for assistance in anyway. We are not connected to any insurance company. When a member signs up they give us 4 pieces of information only. 1. Their name and address 2. The last four digits of their social security number and their birth date 3. The name only of their Insurance company, no policy numbers or account numbers…only the name and 4. the name and addresses of the 2 designated people that we will send the annual reminders too.(the above information will never be for public viewing) This is the only information that is required. Even if someone where to penetrates our website and get the above information, there is nothing they can do with it. The insurance company will only issue the check to the beneficiary stated on the policy. And unless you have a signed sealed death certificate, they will not even issue the check to the beneficiary. We assure you that our site is very secure and we never ask for any private information. Even some banks ask for your last four digits of your social security number and they match it with your birthdate.
If you have any other concerns please ask and I will be more than willing to answer them for you.
    Thank you Michael Hartmann Founder

This is a gret idea as long as people have some way to know about the service. It seems like a great extra touch that life insurance agents could offer for their clients.

  8. Michael Hartmann says:

    Hello Daniel,
While I was selling Life Insurance I would constantly tell clients my concept/idea and I never had one person say that it was a bad idea. The more people that I talked to, the more I realized that it is a benefit to anyone that is concerned their beneficiaries receive their inheritance. We also believe that our best form of advertising will be agents that understand, by adding this service to their package of benefits, will enhance their business. We will work, one client at a time and one day be the \”Yellow Pages\” of life insurance. Anyone can search our database for \”free\”.This is our goal.
Our mission statement is very strong \”To be the best in serving our members by providing peace of mind that their beneficiaries receive their inheritance.\”
Due to our press release of last week, we are working with some large companies that are very interested in endorsing our service. These endorsement will help us get the word out to the masses in the United States.

Hello Byron, I just wanted you to know that we have added a video feature to our website, explaining the benefits of our service. We encourage all to take a look at it and actually hear about the benefits.
Please take a look at it and feel free to post your comments.

  10. Byron Udell says:

    Thanks Michael – I\’ll take a look.

FindYourPolicy.com is growing in leaps and bounds. We have recently hired a PR company (Mulberry Street Market Intelligence) and are being looked at by the American Bankers Association as a link to be added in all banks they represent. These two entities have reconfirmed, along with our many members, that our service is much needed and wanted. The security that individuals feel knowing that their beneficiaries will be reminded annually with a post card of where their information is located is that of confidence. We encourage everyone to take a look at our site and at the new updates that are made. If anyone has any questions or concerns, please write me personally and I will answer them all for you.

Agents that want to ad this great benefit to their clients package, please e-mail or call me as we are set up for an agent program. http://www.findyourpolicy.com

    Hello All,
We at FindYourPolicy.com are looking for Independant Sales Reps that are interested in promoting our service. Please e-mail us with questions.
We are also interested in knowing any real life stories of clients that agents may have that have been the unfortunate results of not knowing the name of an Insurance Company and that could have been helped with our service. Anyone interested in sharing these stories is very welcome.
    Thank you.
