Life Insurance Awareness Month!
Monday marked the first day of Life Insurance Awareness Month (LIAM). I hope you will help spread the message of the importance of life insurance to your friends and family.
Who needs it?
- If someone depends on you financially, then you need life insurance.
How much do you need?
- Many experts recommend at least ten times your annual income. However, I think it’s important to use a life insurance needs calculator before you buy a life insurance policy.
What type do you need?
- The two main types are term life insurance and permanent policies.
- Term life is straight insurance. There is a death benefit, but no cash value.
- Permanent policies are a lot more expensive, but they offer a cash value or savings element.
Before purchasing a life insurance policy, be sure to speak with a licensed agent that can make meaningful recommendations.

Also, amke sure to consider how much you can afford to pay for your life insurance policy. And, how long do you need life insurance protection. Many young families choose to purchase 20 or 30 year term life insurance to provide money to pay off their mortgage, and provide money to pay for their childrens’ college education, or for other living expenses.
